Davenport is out of French Open

Former world number one Lindsay Davenport has pulled out of the French Open due to personal reasons.

The 31-year-old, who reached the semi-finals in 1998, took an 11-month break to have a baby and returned to the sport in September 2007.

Davenport's American compatriots Meilen Tu and Meghann Shaughnessy have also pulled out because of injury worries.

In the men's draw, 2004 runner-up Guillermo Coria will replace the injured Andy Roddick.

Davenport won three out of four tournaments after returning just three months after giving birth to son Jagger.

Murray looks to improve behaviour
Image

Andy Murray has admitted his on-court behaviour needs to improve after he was branded "miserable" by former British number one Tim Henman.

Henman recently said Murray's behaviour needs to improve if he wants to win Wimbledon and it is a weakness the 21-year-old admits he is working on.

"Sometimes I'm immature on court and that's not acceptable," said Murray.

"It needs to get better. This year it's definitely been much better than the last four or five months of last year."

He added: "I personally think that off the court I'm pretty happy and don't get too down about things.

"But on the court I could be more bubbly, if that's what everybody thinks.

Grant focused on final not future

Chelsea manager Avram Grant insisted he is focusing his attention on the Champions League final rather than his future at Stamford Bridge.

The Israeli dismissed suggestions that Wednesday's final against Manchester United would be his last at Chelsea.

"You need to respect everyone at Chelsea and ask questions about the final, not about me," Grant told the media at a news conference in Moscow.

"We are here because we are here for the most important game for the club."

The 53-year-old has been in charge at Chelsea for eight months since taking over from the charismatic Jose Mourinho, who was sacked in September 2007.

But despite just missing out on the Premier League title and guiding the west London club to their first European Cup final,

Birmingham's on-loan striker Mauro Zarate is having discussions with Portsmouth over a possible move to Fratton Park, BBC Sport understands.

However, the FA Cup winners have yet to agree a fee with the 21-year-old's parent club, Al-Saad of Qatar.

Pompey boss Harry Redknapp is believed to be "very keen" to land Zarate who scored four goals for relegated Blues.

The Argentine, who joined on loan in January until the end of the season, scored four goals for relegated Blues.

Last week, Birmingham boss Alex McLeish paid tribute to the striker.

"Mauro's going to be an attractive proposition to Premier League clubs, in fact I know he is," he told the Birmingham Mail.
