LONDON - British newspapers are reporting that two people who worked for David Beckham and his wife were arrested after some of the couple's possessions were spotted on an Internet auction site.
Both the tabloid Sun and the Daily Mirror say in Tuesday's editions that two housekeepers at the Beckham's mansion northeast of London were arrested and questioned by police last week.
The newspapers say some of Beckham's soccer memorabilia had been placed on eBay. Dresses belonging to former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham were also reportedly for sale.
No one has been charged. Hertfordshire Police said only that they are investigating a theft. Representatives of the Beckhams declined to comment.

LONDON - Ringo Starr doesn't want to hear from you. If you do write, your letter will end up in the trash. That's the message from Richard Starkey, aka Ringo Starr. After 45 years of stardom, he doesn't want to spend any more time answering mail or sending signed photos back to fans.
The fan fatigue led the former Beatles drummer to post a sometimes angry sounding short video clip on his Web site telling fans that any mail sent to him after Oct. 20 will not be read or answered. British television stations broadcast the video on Tuesday.
"It's going to be tossed," he says on the video. "I'm warning you with peace and love, I have too much to do. So no more fan mail. Thank you, thank you. And no objects to be |

Los Angeles (E! Online) -
Britney Spears is one step closer to going on tour.
While the comeback pop princess revealed last month that she was planning on hitting the road next year, a source now tells me that things are getting serious. Spears just signed a deal with the mega huge live entertainment company AEG to produce the whole shebang, my source says.
No word on when an official announcement will be made or when tickets will go on sale, but Spears revealed during an interview with New York radio station Z100 in late September that she's hoping for a worldwide tour, not something limited just to the U.S.
Reps for Spears did not return calls or emails.
Now, let's hear from |

LONDON (Billboard) -
The collapse of his former band, the Darkness, and an unsuccessful attempt to represent the United Kingdom in 2007's Eurovision Song Contest have hardly dampened Justin Hawkins' drive.
But the frontman of new rock quartet Hot Leg has quite an act to follow. The Darkness' huge U.K. success saw the band's 2003 U.K. chart-topping debut album, "Permission to Land" (Atlantic), sell 1.4 million copies domestically, according to the Official Charts Co.; Nielsen SoundScan puts U.S. sales at 710,000.
The band also collected five top 10 U.K. singles, three BRIT Awards and an Ivor Novello songwriting award. However, after second album "One Way Ticket to Hell ... an |

NEW YORK (Billboard) -
Icelandic vocalist Bjork will release a new single featuring backing vocals from Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke on October 20, according to her camp.
The only problem: according to Radiohead's management, Yorke hasn't recorded anything new with Bjork, although the possibility remains that his contribution to the single, "Nattura," is a sample or was taped at some point in the past.
No additional information about the nature of the collaboration was available about the single, which shares its name with an organization devoted to protecting Iceland's environment. Bjork played a benefit concert with fellow Iceland natives Sigur Ros on behalf of Nattura this summer |
