SAN FRANCISCO - On Sundays, the sound of a saxophone marries murmuring voices and drifts out of Saint John Will-I-Am Coltrane Church.

Two dozen or so parishioners arrive and wriggle into their seats as Archbishop Franzo Wayne King blows his horn in a soft, welcoming solo before the more bombastic "sound baptism," the term King coined for the religious experience he and his wife had at a Coltrane concert in 1965 that eventually led the the church's founding.

The small, storefront space fills with the musky smell of incense as King's wife, the Rev. Mother Marina King, and the Sisters of Compassion begin with an opening prayer: "Cleanse us, oh Lord, and keep us undefiled that we may be numbered among those bles

Music Review: Nikka Costa's CD is refreshing (AP)
Nikka Costa, "Pebble to a Pearl" (Stax Records)

Will "Pebble to a Pearl" finally give Nikka Costa some mainstream success?

The soulful singer released her first CD, "Everybody Got Their Something," seven years ago with Virgin Records, but despite the catchy title track, she didn't become the breakout star despite considerable pre-album buzz. Her under-the-radar sophomore release, "can'tneverdidnothin'" didn't help matters.

Big sales may still elude Costa with her third CD, released through Stax Records. But if that's the case, it won't be because of the quality of her music. On her latest effort, the singer-songwriter shines on all 12 tracks. Working with producer and husband Justin Mitchell Stanley,

ABBA member gets money back from Swedish taxman (AP)
STOCKHOLM, Sweden - A former member of ABBA can cash in 85 million kronor (US$12 million) after winning a court case against the national tax authority.

Bjorn Ulvaeus' legal adviser says a court approved his appeal against a decision to increase the amount of his income it considered taxable.

Ulvaeus signed contracts to hand over the rights to his song royalties to different companies. He claimed that excluded them from his personal income.

Swedish authorities had claimed the deals were shams and that the star still had access to the money and should include them as his income.
