CRM's meaning in Higher Education needs to be defined and standardized to reduce market confusion and increase adoption rates.
I've been writing about Customer Relationship Management (CRM) in Higher Education for some time now (see CRM in Higher Education, Solid growth expected in Higher Ed CRM, and Higher Ed CRM for the Full Student Lifecycle). In reality, however, there is much inconsistency in how CRM is defined in the world of academia. While vendors have their own definitions of CRM, this messaging is inconsistent and confusing to the often conservative and risk-averse world of these institutions. Willie's "Getting the Most out of DB2 for z/OS and System z" blog.
I just read a great blog entry that I think every mainframer (or anyone with kids, especially those out there with daughters) has to read... It's on Kristine Neely's Newbie Blog (some of you may have known her as Kristine Harper, that just changed) and it's her entry titled Father of the Bride. It makes you (or at least it made me) think about my 30+ year career on the mainframe, my two daughters, and now my two grandchildren.
It's just a really nice post that is perfect reading material for a stormy Houston weekend...
Thank you Kristine for posting.
....While writing today's blog entry, I was listening to the Wes Montgomery 1992 release "Down Her on the Ground". This is one of the greatest |

Your reading Willie's "Getting the Most out of DB2 for z/OS and System z" blog.
My apologies to Emma Lazarus for "borrowing" the first line from her poem “The New Colossus”; you know that poem on the plaque at the base of the Statue of Liberty.
And I really don't want you to physically send me anything. However.....
If you have anything from IDUG's past, things like the CDs, old three ring binders, badges, T-shirts, jackets, coffee mugs, drink cuzzi, drink coasters, reference guides, posters, speaker gifts, and who know what else... snap a digital picture of it (the bigger (more pixels) the better) and I will take everything and anything I get a build a special IDUG tribute web page on my DB2Now.com web site.
I only have a few rules requirements:1). |
