Willie's "Getting the Most out of DB2 for z/OS and System z" blog.
"Deprecated" is such a great word. Have you lever looked it up in a dictionary? Try it sometime; you'll find most of its meaning very entertaining when you apply them to DB2. But I've gone have on a terrible tangent. "Deprecated" as used by IBM and this blog entry simply refer to features in DB2 that might be going away. Maybe not in this release, maybe not even the next release, but someday. Someday you'll open a DB2 manual and they'll be gone, just an empty where they used to be.. (that's humor of course).
The list of deprecated function in DB2 9 is short and sweet. The first two I am sure many of you have heard plenty about.
Private protocol will be leaving us; for sure this time. Yes, |

About a month ago I was given a nickname by one of my developers - The Collector of Souls. As dark as that seemed to me at the time I kind of liked it and it made me laugh.
Oh my - team dynamics - while we're reading our lists and thinking great papers in our minds we need to talk about life. This is my least favorite subject but one we need to deal with.
Over the next couple of weeks I am going to introduce you to my actual team in that non proprietary evil H.M. way that will hopefully give you some more in depth insight into how shrewd Business Analysts need to operate within the corporate culture.

Well, cacophony really means disharmonious. That wasn't the case at all. But it was a lot of sound... Played the Satisfied Frog last night and had Mike A. accompany me on guitar and John D. on Harmonica. Amazing!!! Zach and Cheetah played as well. See the album here. My set list: South To Mexico (original) Dangerous Girl (original) The Night is not for Sleeping (original)
then I got to play again - at the end of the night and did an Em set (every song was in the key of Em). Lincoln Duncan (cover Paul Simon) Santa Fe (cover Shawn Mullins) Lonely Mile Man (original) All of my originals above are on my myspace page. With Mike and John backing me up I felt (and sounded) like a rock s |

I was talking with a friend yesterday about various achievements and the lack thereof. He said, "You did the best you can do." I thought about that statement for a moment and then replied... "I didn't do the best I can do. I did the best I could do." Perhaps I am splitting hairs but I took the statement "best I can do" to indicate what my talent or potential is - meaning, raw skill. Kind of a best you could do given the circumstances - even if the circumstances are largely habit and pattern. The challenge is to bridge the gap b |
