Ferrum president Jennifer Braaten said the school was still in lockdown and students were being moved from their rooms to a central location on campus.

"No one has been hurt and no one is in panic mode," Braaten said.

Franklin County Sheriff Ewell Hunt said there have been no threats and no injuries since the lock down. Classes were cancelled. An elementary school next door has also was locked down.

A housekeeping staff member saw a young white male with a handgun walking into a residence hall at about 7:30 a.m., Hunt said.

Melinda Williams has no right to inherit the money from Faheem Williams because she abused and neglected him and his two brothers, the Appellate Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey found in a 3-0 decision that upheld a lower court ruling.

“This was a tragic event in a quiet neighborhood,” Baldwin Park police Capt. Michael Taylor said.

The Los Angeles sheriff’s office said Tuesday that the suspect was in custody. His name and the names of the victims were not released.
